Wayne Banks was the Architect of Record for the new Mesa College Parking Structure, a five level parking structure containing approximately 1,101 parking stalls and is located on the east side of the campus right off of Mesa College Drive.  It is now a focal point of the entire campus by location, use of energy efficient design and the first building to be constructed as part of the $685 million dollar improvement plan for the entire campus.

The new parking structure will follow the latest practices for energy efficient design by following LEED guidelines. It has been designed to accommodate photovoltaic panels on the roof level which will utilize solar power arrays to power electrical vehicle charging stations, store power for use of the entire campus and for emergency power for the adjacent police station. The total usage/design is 286,798 thousand KWH per year.

The parking structure will be nested between a canyon on the south and west sides, by Mesa College Drive on the east and by a new adjacent police head quarters on the north; however the structure is open and allows the flow of natural light and ventilation. The parking structure will house campus parking, vehicle charging stations and utilizing the ground tier for secured police parking.
